PapiNet is a global, open initiative to develop, maintain and promote the use of electronic transaction standards, in order to improve supply chain efficiency and system communications amongst all companies involved in buying, selling and distribution of forest paper and wood products.
A good example of the use of these standards is
Expresso Paper, which is a European hub aiming at interconnecting in a highly efficient way the main paper producers and its clients, using the internet. Expresso participants, of which Portucel Soporcel Group is a founding member represent more then 60% of the total sales volume of European fine paper sector.
The group has also launched an Extranet which has been developed in order to provide internet access to the information located on our internal systems, as part of the high service level that we want to offer on a constant basis, to our customers.
Extranet serves the main transactional processes between the Setúbal and Figueira mills and their respective customers, besides providing an extensive package of information on the daily business processes.
