The Bonelli's eagle – a Living Example of Biodiversity Conservation in the Group
24-10-2007
“Birds make the sky”, says the Mozambican writer Mia Couto in his foreword to the book “Bonelli's Eagles in Portugal” launched on October 18 in Lisbon by the Má Criação publishing firm.
The book was sponsored by the Portucel Soporcel group. With its beautiful photos of Bonelli's eagles nesting among the tops of eucalyptus trees, it provides an enriching insight into the life of this endangered species, while making an appeal to the Portuguese concerning the need to preserve our country’s natural heritage.
During the launch ceremony, the author, Paulo Caetano, stressed the responsible posture adopted by our Company and the fact that it has undertaken real conservation projects, namely under the Cooperation protocol established with the Centre for Studies of Iberian Avifauna (CEAI) on a LIFE-Nature project for the conservation of the Bonelli’s Eagle in the South of Portugal.
We take pride in our posture as a socially and environmentally responsible Company and believe that by supporting this work we are contributing to the preservation of biodiversity in our forests.
Fly with the Bonelli's eagle in this journey across the skies of Southern Portugal and enjoy the beautiful pictures in the book.
