Portucel Soporcel's growing pursuit of a strategy based on product differentiation and the Group's continuous investment in Research and Development were key to achieving the recognition that came with winning the Best European Business award in the category of Innovation for large enterprises. The prize was awarded in a ceremony held at Lisbon's Ritz Four Seasons Hotel on October 18. Around two hundred entrepreneurs and top managers at leading Portuguese companies were present. The event was organised by Roland Berger Strategy Consultants and the Financial Times in association with Universidade Nova de Lisboa and Jornal de Negócios.

The award is a result not only of Portucel Soporcel having one of the most advanced production processes in the world, but also of the reputation of its paper brands and its strong presence in major world markets.
