Navigator Eco-Logical and the new packaging for Discovery and Multioffice office papers were the main attractions during Portucel Soporcel Group’s participation in Paperworld 2005, the most important fair dedicated to office materials, which took place in Frankfurt between the 26th and the 30th of January. Recently launched internationally, Navigator Eco-Logical is an innovative product specially designed for a new segment of consumers with a strong environmental conscience. This product is the result of years of intense research and technical advances by the Portucel Soporcel Group aimed at creating products of premium quality based on the sustainable use of natural resources. Integrated in the premium Navigator range, Navigator Eco-Logical combines for the first time in the office paper market a premium quality with a significant reduction in natural resources used for its production. In fact, despite being 5g/m2 lighter than the 80 g/m2 European standard paper weight, this paper maintains extremely high performance characteristics. Navigator Advantage Pack 90 g/m2, launched in 2004 were also on display, presenting once again its innovative and re-usable packaging which is a major change in packaging solutions aimed at meeting the needs of modern small offices and home offices. Special attention in the business paper area were given to the new images of Multioffice 80g/m2 and the – Discovery 75 g/m2 brands, two products with recently changed packaging and to the Pioneer range, launched at the end of 2003. Still in the Business papers portfolio Inacópia Range were also presented with Inacópia Elite and Inacópia Office. At the Group´s 204m2 stand, Portucel Soporcel’s participation were also aimed at printing professionals with the presentation of its entire portfolio of offset products, comprising the following brands: Soporset Premium Offset, Soporset Pre-Print, Inaset Plus Offset, Inaset Plus Laser and Pioneer Pre-Print. Navigator, produced by the Portucel Soporcel Group, is a set of office paper solutions compatible with all office equipment. The range has been especially designed to meet and even exceed the requirements of modern office users. European consumers consider Navigator to be one of the leading brands in the Business Paper segment, particularly in regard to product quality. All these features have contributed to Navigator’s unique position and a strong market growth which resulted in Navigator being the biggest selling premium office paper in the world in 2004. Navigator’s paper and range were designed and developed on the basis of in-depth market research, which included surveys amongst consumers from all over Europe, technological research and the results of product tests performed in European and North American laboratories. The paper is produced from eucalyptus globulus fibre in one of the most advanced paper machine in the world, located at the Figueira da Foz mill. The Portucel Soporcel Group is the largest producer of uncoated woodfree papers in the Iberian peninsula and is the fourth largest in Europe.
